Introducing Intrepid Tendency

18 Mar

Hello, friend!

Welcome to my very own blog, Intrepid Tendency. I am (you guessed it) Scott. Here you can find my blog posts, some information about me in the Bio section, and most importantly, you will see some of my super snazzy graphics that I make in Paint… (In case you are wondering, that 8-bit-esque white brick thing with the sword and shield in the header is supposed to be a blog – my blog – as a knight in shining armor zapping a pair of green Crocs).

“Take that you vile creatures!” 🙂

That should give you a hint as to what this blog might be about… and while we are on the subject -> Crocs are only even borderline acceptable when on the job as a lifeguard or swim instructor, or, IF YOU MUST, in the privacy of one’s own home – but for heaven’s sake please don’t wear an unmatched pair, oh let’s say, one orange Croc and one green Croc, out in broad daylight… WITH SOCKS. 😥

Oh yes, friends. I’ve seen it. The streets ain’t safe. Granted, though, this was strolling down Edmonton, Alberta’s very own Whyte Ave… where it is a whole other ball game. There are obviously plenty of exceptions, but Oil City can sometimes tend to look how it sounds. (Hey, I was born there! I’m allowed to poke a little fun 🙂 )

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Ok though, in all seriousness, you are probably wondering what a blog with a name like Intrepid Tendency is supposed to be about, right? “What kind of a name is that, anyways?” I’ll get to the name in a second, but here is a quick breakdown of what you can expect to find on my blog and some topics that I hope to share my thoughts with you about in the near future.

  1. Local (Vancouver) Fashion
  2. My own “Fashion Finds” and “Inspiring Purchases”
  3. I will try my hand at writing and posting some articles / interviews
  4. Sharing inspiring articles, quotes, tips, photographs, etc. that I come across in my travels
  5. Personal blog posts that will hopefully inform you of something, let you know what I’m up to, or at least bring a smile to your face

The specifics are not written in stone, but largely, I intend for this to be a blog focused on fashion.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Alright, back to the name. Surprisingly, it actually took me a really long time to settle on a name for my blog, but now that I’ve found it, I must say that I am pretty satisfied with it. I have never blogged before so I was bogged down worrying about what to name it, what I should blog about, fears of it being terrible, etc. etc. etc. when I had a moment of clarity and decided, to heck with it. Instead of being delayed by doubts and what-ifs, I’ll just do it. That moment, and that feeling, and that willingness to take risks is what the name of this blog is all about – it’s something that we all have within ourselves.

Intrepid: fearless; dauntless; an intrepid explorer.

Tendency: an inclination, bent, or predisposition to something.

All of us live with self-doubts and those little voices in our heads that scare us from trying new things for fear of failing. Well, next time that little voice rears it’s ugly head, make the choice to be intrepid and slay that unwelcome thought like it was a pair of  Crocs miles away from the nearest swimming pool.

“RETURN FROM WHENCE YOU CAME!”

Alright, I don’t want to scare you all off with my introductory post so I think I’ll leave it at that. I look forward to our adventures together and I hope you do too! Please feel free to contact me via the ‘Contact’ page and follow me on ‘Twitter’ for more frequent updates.

Until next time my faithful intrepids,

xx Scott

I think your blog is beautiful just the way it is. Like you. Stream of consciousness is in. And really, the English language is defined by the people who use it. So have at it. xoxo 😉
